Resume Writing Professional: Are You Going To Pay An Arm And A Leg For A Resume?

If you’re in the market for a new resume or CV, read on. I want to talk about a something very important – especially in this economy. Do your due diligence if you are going to have your resume written by a professional.

Do you know that some people pay nearly a thousand dollars for an executive level resume or CV? Many times large resume writing firms charge upward of a thousand dollars for a resume and cover letter. The funny thing is that in most cases those large firms actually hire certified writers from small companies across the US to write resumes as contract resume writers. The resume writers from small companies charge far less through their own companies. You just need to find one.

Of course there are always considerations to make before you select a professional resume writer. There are some pretty good reasons to go with a small company. You can get some great perks along with the purchase of a resume if you go with a smaller firm.

Check out the options offered. Some of the perks associated with smaller companies include free thank you letters, complimentary job search coaching, interview help or even deep discounts for returning customers.

There’s another advantage to going with a smaller company. You get personal support. You might find yourself faced with a tough interview question or you might have a job search dilemma. If you go with a small company, the right one will offer advisement through the job search process. The concern with going with a larger company is that you actually never even speak to a resume writer, and if that’s the case, how are you going to get your questions answered?

Here’s the other side of the coin, a $700 resume might give you access to employers. A smaller firm would not have access to employers, so clearly you have to decide what works for you.

The point I am trying to make is professional resume writing can be an affordable investment that will help you get interviews. However, you don’t need to pay an arm and a leg just to get interviews.
