Your Best is Yet to Come

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join me. And the world will live as one. ~John Lennon

I am proud to say I am a professional speaker, master coach, author, and radio personality. I speak and train at universities, corporations, and trade associations about achievement ~ about how to make it happen now!

I’m going to share ideas about achieving more and taking it to the next level. I want you to determine and design your destiny and become the CEO of YOU!

1. Develop a reputation for excellence that precedes you.

Who wants more than they had in the past? I vision many raising your hand. That means you got to change, show up, and go after your dreams. I live by Change… Sustain… and !nnovate (yes, !nnovate is spelled correctly) and developing a reputation for excellence. Which means you need to continually change…

I bet many of you want to change. But human nature tells us we’re creatures of habit. It’s sometimes painful to change our habits. Look around the room, I can bet that each of you sit in the same seat each day, drive the same route to your office, attend a networking function and talk to the same people, write a blog with the same message. Well that’s okay, it’s called branding. That’s for another story.

If you keep doing what you’re doing…nothing changes. Doing the same thing day after day is lunacy. Force yourself to change a little bit at a time. Drive a different route to work or change your bedtime.

2. You got to show up.

If you just show up you’ll get 80% of what you want. If you show up with a plan you’ll get 90% of what you want. If you show up with a plan and implement you will get 100% of what you want all of the time. When you go after your dreams stuff will happen ~ even if you just show up.

3. Go after your dreams.

Anyone ever have a setback? I’ve had many in my lifetime. I like to think I’ve had more than others, but I know that’s not true. When I became a single mom, the house with the picket fence went away. I struggled working a 3rd shift job as a truck dispatcher. I was lucky to get 2 hours of sleep before getting up to take care of my three old daughter and six month old son. Come the weekend I slept all day and night. But I had a dream…

I had a dream I would achieve success and help others find and achieve their success. Today that’s exactly what I’m doing. I transform experts worldwide to engage and achieve more. I like to say I’m an attitude and achievement expert. When I first began speaking and training I earned zero dollars. I knew practice was important and I became an opportunity hunter and turn it into an achievement.

My first paying speech was at the Georgia Called Woman’s Conference. They called four days before the conference asking what size table I needed for my book sales. BOOK! I don’t have a book. “Sure an 8-foot table would be great,” I said. I wrote the next great novel in two days, Finding your Passion for Action. I sent my novel to the printer, without proofing, and picked up the books on my way to the airport. I thought the box was quite small for 100 novels. As it turns out my novel was a 40-page booklet. To my surprise I sold all 100 books and had orders for another 150 copies.

In my frustration and after speaking with my coach, he said you must have a book inside you. You’ve been a CEO of nonprofit organizations for over 20 years and you have nothing to say?

It was a long drive from Nashville back to Pennsylvania ~ one week later The Art of the Ask was written. The ~ #1 Best Seller on Amazon; Then came book #3 ~ The Art of the Ask… a collection of letters and telephone scripts.

And my latest Marketing Masters, ready, set, GROW your market. In addition CD’s and DVD’s will be supporting the book.

I have an offer from a leading publishing house in NYC to print my biography and turn my story into a movie.

Yes, we all have challenges. It’s up to you to not allow your past to define your future. My dream is to help others achieve. There was a time when I couldn’t pay my rent. I went to my landlord begging to give me more time. ~ Today I am a #1 bestselling author, international speaker, radio host, and soon to have a movie about me.

Yes, I lived setbacks. And I got tired of people telling me I would amount to nothing. I learned my words were powerful and I had a dream.

1. Change and develop your reputation of excellence

2. Sustain change and show up

3. !nnovate ways to go after your dreams

Your Best is yet to Come. The struggle in life is one of your greatest blessings. It makes you patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches you that although the world is full of suffering, if you dream the impossible ~ you can achieve the incredible.
