The Quality Control I is responsible for following the M.C. Dean Quality Control (QC) Program to achieve and verify quality expectations for a durable and reliable installation. The Quality Control I is responsible for performing field inspections to ensure work is in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Document, Implement and Manage Quality Control Plan on the project.

Perform Quality Control tasks to include:

  1. Contract document review for compliance: RFP, Specs, Drawings, Submittals, etc...
  2. Review design documents for constructability and contract compliance.
  3. Implement 3-Phase Quality Control approach: Preparatory meetings, Initial inspections, and Follow-up inspections for all applicable Definable Features of Work.
  4. Create detailed project specific installation checklists for field workers.
  5. Perform inspections on all work performed in detail, efficiently, and in conjunction with Owner/QC.
  6. Collect data, analyze for continuous improvement, and share with project team weekly.
  7. Participate in daily safety meetings to discuss Quality issues and concerns.
  8. Attend all required project meetings to provide resolution to any Quality issues from Owner/QC.
  9. Manage and assist in resolving all Quality or Commissioning punch-lists.
  10. Direct interface with GC/Owner to ensure requirements are understood and communicated to the project team.
Experience / Education Required:
  1. Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  3. Excellent problem solving, analyzing, and resolving skills
  4. Ability to communicate at all levels of construction
  5. Keen attention to detail
  6. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  7. Ability to read, interpret and review construction drawings and documents
  8. Must pass basic background check
  9. Extensive knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC 3-Phase Quality Control System
  10. Experience on military bases, government contracts
  11. Journeyman's Electrical License, preferred, with a high school diploma or GED and at least six (6) to eight (8) years of experience.

Requirements

  1. High School or GED with 6 - 8 years of experience. Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Construction Management is preferred but not required. 
  2. Must successfully pass a background check
  3. Extensive knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC 3-Phase Quality Control System
  4. Experience on military bases, government contracts
  5. Journeyman's license and/or Master Electrician license
  6. Graduate from a certified Apprenticeship Program

Abilities:

  1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
