Summary:
SKF in Sumter, S.C. is a world-class manufacturing site with new line design and installation of state-of-the-art equipment and handling systems. SKF offers solutions around the rotating shaft, including bearings, seals, lubrication management, condition monitoring, and maintenance services. The SKF Sumter, SC sites played an integral role in helping Mars Rover collect rock and regolith samples on the planet's surface.
As the Manufacturing Systems Coordinator you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and lead the industry 4.0 initiatives across the facility.
  • Keep the factory&aposs indicator monitoring system updated, using the most appropriate technological advances, MES, traceability, and other technologies available and approved by the corporate.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of these systems.
  • Promote and execute recommended actions for continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of the SKF Production System (SPS) in the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and execute a facility wide digital strategy which supports the business's Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Lead a small team of cross functional individuals, working in various departments.
  • Implement digital and automated solutions which support the plant strategy and enhances competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Help facilitate the execution of lean manufacturing, SPS (SKF Production System), across the business, and provide digital tools to improve the execution of the processes.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of any needed digital tools the SKF Production System at the plant.
  • Coordinate the implementation and any updates of manufacturing management systems such as, MES or CMS.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new Industry 4.0 systems in the plant.
  • Second Level of Technical Support for Digitization Systems.
  • Oversee the general activities of Industry 4.0.
  • Support to other plants for factory monitor/MES deployment.
  • Maintain Key Data Reports.
  • Support SPS coordinator with conducting Lean Level Assessment.
  • Coordinate the implementation of digital Lean tools.
  • Coordinate Future Factory Pulse Meeting.
  • Follow-up to action plans created for Lean Level and Maturity Assessments.
  • Develop and improve data analytics and problem-solving tools.
  • Develop and implement data tracking methods and systems.
  • Develop and implement automation to the factory with support of the other areas in engineering department.
  • Work with maintenance and manufacturing engineering to implement conditional monitoring and equipment process monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in One of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics or Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering with experiencing deploying IoT solutions.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PowerBI, Big Data, Industry 4.0 execution, network systems.
  • Experience with IoT implementation and shop floor machine connectivity.
  • Experience with PLC's and robotics, Fanuc, and Siemens preferred.
