The Tax Manager, Transfer Pricing will report to the VP Tax and manage Ingevity's global transfer pricing function and support international tax compliance and planning. In this role, you will be involved in managing Ingevity's Transfer Pricing policy and using analytic tools and models to assist in reviewing transfer pricing outcomes and projections. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with other teams across the organization to understand key business drivers and drive value through the design and implementation of intercompany processes. The ideal candidate will have strong international business acumen developed from past transfer pricing experiences. Regardless of background, excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills, an eagerness to learn, and self-starting drive will make you a key addition to the team.

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Manage Ingevity's global transfer pricing operations, including understanding and monitoring entity functions, implementing, and monitoring appropriate arm's length pricing, assisting with intercompany agreements, and managing documentation compliance.
  • Extensive involvement with updating and implementing Ingevity's operational transfer pricing policies and planning strategies.
  • Review/set transfer prices on intercompany flows annually, as well as needed on ad HOC requests from the business.
  • Evaluate and compute where appropriate transfer pricing adjustments
  • Manage relationship and document flow with external service providers and review economic analysis performed by external service providers.
  • Educate appropriate members in finance, supply chain, global trade and the broader businesses regarding Transfer Pricing requirements and involve them in the management of Transfer Pricing policies and methodologies.
  • Drive in tax process optimization, develop, and implement procedural changes and/or processes to improve transfer pricing function.
  • Participate in quarterly corporate income tax provision processes and collaborate with international tax, tax accounting, treasury, and accounting teams to communicate transfer pricing results and assist in understanding models.
  • Participate in the preparation/review of Ingevity's global Country by Country forms/disclosures/reporting requirement for all jurisdictions.
  • Participate in development/implementation of BEPS Pillar Two computations as required by the OECD
  • Actively partner with cross functional groups within the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered, and communicated.
  • Support the development of training materials and technical manuals.
  • Conduct tax research, assist with tax audits and provide tax controversy support.
  • Support the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 process and maintain Ingevity's intercompany transfer pricing matrix and strong internal controls over transfer pricing processes.

What you need to succeed:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required, Master of Taxation desirable
  • CPA or comparable certification desirable
  • 5-7 years working in tax, finance or supply chain
  • 4 years experience in transfer pricing, international tax matters, and cross border tax issues
  • Knowledge of operational transfer pricing setting, cost accounting and intercompany accounting
  • Self-starter with strong accounting, analytical, creative problem-solving and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organization
  • Must be well-organized with the ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities with minimum supervision
  • Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with ERP systems, highly preferred experience with SAP
  • Familiaritywith Transfer Pricing solutions a plus
  • This role is eligible for relocation assistance. Flexibility for hybrid schedule with an estimated 15% travel component.
