Position Overview: The Pavement Preservation Technical Specialist will serve as an integral part of the Pavement Technologies team by providing support to our customers, as well as to our R&D, commercialization, and sales teams. The candidate will use their knowledge of emulsified asphalt products to help our customers solve their most challenging issues. This will include formulation, production, and testing of Ingevity chemistries and their application in customer processes. Possessing an innate curiosity and a desire to learn is a must!

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Use your laboratory expertise and technical knowledge to shape and influence technical solutions from concept to commercialization.
  • Take ownership of projects from inception through successful application. This will involve exercising strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly and be responsive to changing priorities.
  • Create value for Ingevity products and technologies based on knowledge of chemistry and customer applications.
  • Develop business relationships with key customers through technical support, attendance at industry conferences, and participation in industry associations.
  • Communicate regularly with commercial team to align on technical strategies for individual accounts.
  • Work as part of a dynamic team utilizing the members' individual strengths to share laboratory responsibilities and maximize results.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field required. Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience within the chemicals or construction materials industries. Asphalt or pavement preservation lab experience preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player mentality and the flexibility to adapt to ever-changing priorities.
  • Self-discipline regarding project ownership.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to attend customer visits, professional conferences, or interoffice meetings.
  • Ability to safely handle 50 lb. buckets of materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US.
