Leidos currently has an opening for a Lab Assembler to work in our Ladson, SC facility. As a member of the Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team, you will be joining a diverse and dedicated group who are excited about producing industry leading screening technology. Our new Ladson, SC facility will produce a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation, shipping ports, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers. These systems provide threat detection by screening baggage, cargo, and people at checkpoints around the world.

The Lab Assembler will be responsible for the rapid manufacturing of the consumable products used in our Trace detection systems. This is a repetitive manufacturing environment with a handful of variations.In this role the assembler must be able to read and interpret associated documentation while preparing raw materials for various steps of the process.Some of these steps will include washing, baking, measuring, and mixing of required materials.This person must be detailed oriented and safety conscious to maintain proper ratios and safe handling of the product.Once all required steps are complete samples will be tested and submitted to quality control for verification. The final step will be packaging into small containers with serialization and lot tracking applied.The ideal candidate will be a positive, energetic, self-motivating individual who is ready to learn and contribute to the Leidos mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics

  • Utilize various tools to measure, weigh, and mix raw materials

  • Produce samples, test articles, and finished goods

  • Routine cleaning and maintenance of baking and mixing equipment

  • Reviewing and monitoring raw materials for accuracy and shelf-life compliance

  • Proper handling of hazardous material to include storage and disposal

  • Handling of materials to include removal and replacement of 55 gallon drums

  • Utilize a combination of basic hand, power, pneumatic tools

  • Provide assembly status and feedback for changes or improvements

  • Complete build records and documentation as required

  • Conduct quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others work

  • Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization utilizing 5S methodologies

  • Follow manufacturing guidelines and procedures

  • Adhere to company regulatory and compliance policies

  • Participate in cross-training activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' relevant experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US Citizenship required)

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to tolerate potential dust and odors (PPE provided as necessary)

  • Average computer skills used for daily employee task

Pay Range:Pay Range $37,050.00 - $66,975.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
