Atlas Technologies is seeking a Project Manager to provide leadership and guidance in managing projects for our rapidly growing organization. Our ideal candidate is well versed in identifying customer and client needs while managing multiple projects and teams. This position will serve as a Project Manager directly supporting the Program Manager. Our Project Manager will be accountable for cost, schedule, management, and quality while building client relationships, developing personnel, and providing exceptional customer service. They will also participate in key business meetings and support the preparation and review of proposals and marketing materials. Our Project Manager will be an attentive, discerning, dynamic, innovative, and engaged leader experienced in the details necessary to successfully execute DoD contracts and the activities of their team(s).

In this role, you will work closely with government and industry partners, engineers, and product teams to provide the most efficient use of resources and technologies to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will work with all stakeholders to identify appropriate resources and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, collaborate with resources, and balance business needs and technical constraints to maximize business benefit.

Apply your project management and technical skills to ensure successful delivery of innovative solutions for the U.S. Coast Guard through our US Navy, National Information Warfare Center (NIWC) partnership. You'll be based in our newest Atlas Technologies facility in beautiful Charleston, SC, with travel to various CONUS locations as requested.

Pay band: $120,000 - $160,000 varies with experience

Travel: up to 20%

You Will:

  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes. Work closely with technical experts/project leads to ensure timely completion of deliverables with focus on meeting project commitments and quality control.
  • Define, communicate, and deliver on project milestones, deliverables, and service levels
  • Measure project performance to stay within established budgets and timelines, while providing exceptional quality.
  • Direct and execute task/delivery orders as defined for the applicable contract
  • Assist with estimation, preparation, and justification in planning, programming, and budgeting activities.
  • Expert in Problem Framing and driving solutions towards results.
  • Mentor and foster professional growth and development of team members
  • Participate in key meetings regarding new business opportunities and assist in opportunity evaluations and proposal efforts
  • Oversee a variety of teams, synergizing them to mission success
  • Practice, instill, and implement Atlas' core values, vision, and goals to maximize the contribution to the company's key product and service offerings
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and demonstrate a mature project management approach in managing technology projects
  • Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their issues, and/or exceed their expectations
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives.

You Have:

  • US Citizenship
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Understand contractual requirements and ensure customer requirements are met and/or exceeded through regular communication with the Program Manager and customers to solicit feedback.
  • Work directly with the Program Manager to improve Change Management, Cost Control, and overall Project tracking/reporting.
  • Continual development of procedures and products to meet customer needs in accordance with contractual standards and limitations.
  • Provide management and leadership to project teams through training, communication, feedback and regular interaction with team members.
  • Monitor project requirements to ensure time schedules and deliverable are met on time or in advance of customer requirements and expectations.
  • Make observations of and communicate business risks and opportunities with Program Manager.
  • Assists and/or provides solutions to project problems.
  • Experience building POAMs withing MS Project (intermediate to advanced)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strategic thinking ability
  • Experience with requirements gathering and creating requirements traceability matrices or functional requirements documents.
  • Minimum 5+years' project management experience within DoD/DHS contracting environment, managing risk, cost, schedule, and performance.
  • 5-10 years' experience serving as a team lead or in a leadership position coordinating tasking with a multitude of team members.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD procurement policies and procedures.
  • Experience seeing a project through to completion from requirements to deployment and experience working with customers
  • Expertise within Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentations.
  • Strong financial mind; expertise in developing and managing complex budgets.
  • Experience with process improvement and process mapping.
  • Superior attention to detail

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, preferred. Other and non- degree are acceptable with commensurate experience
  • Min. five (5) years' experience leading and growing a highly technical workforce
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

We'd Be Impressed If You Had:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with US Coast Guard and/or US Navy projects and programs
  • In depth technical knowledge on US Navy or USCG C5I Systems.
