Job Description

We are currently seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Vegetable Seeds team to cover the Northeast United States. As an Area Sales Manager, you will act as a Key Driver of specific crop strategies to deliver sustainable long-term Sales Area business objectives.

Please note: The territory for this position covers New York, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.


Accountabilities

  • Leadthe Vegetable Seedsales and business in a Sales Area, deliverbusiness targets while building a sustainable business and contributing to the Vegetable Business strategy
  • Leadand developa high-performance Sales team to achieve sales and profit targets for the Sales Area
  • Nurturekey contacts in the Vegetable industry and buildrelationships with major influencers on the Syngenta business
  • Deliver accurate and timely sales forecast and sales plan for Sales Area
  • Design and drive the evolution of the Go to Market strategies by providing continuous feedback on the area market and customer evolution
  • Provide high-level scientific, technical, and specialized product expertise
  • Implement sales execution actions in support of campaigns including product launch strategies for the area, and develop the trial plan for the Sales Area
  • Monitor business performance and adjust strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and overall business contribution targets
  • Partner with Product Development Specialists and Marketing Operations Lead to coordinate the demo and demand generation plan

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or related field (MS preferred)
  • 5+ years' experience in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Agribusiness
  • Experience and knowledge of the Vegetable Seed market, marketplace dynamics, competitive environments, and customer needs
  • Strong business, finance, and marketing acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in directly interfacing with large customers and channel partners, and coordinating important accounts
  • Travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging customer and market relationships and the execution of Go to Market strategies
  • Knowledge and understanding of market dynamics and competitive environment
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams
  • Ability to create value for the customer
