https://wllc.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor in German to start in August 2024. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment.

This non-tenure track Instructor position will teach three courses per semester while also coaching undergraduates but may teach up to four courses per semester according to the needs of the section. This position will primarily be teaching German language and culture courses at the elementary and intermediate levels, although there might be a possibility of teaching upper-level content courses as program needs dictate.

Initial appointment is for a period of up to three academic years. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

About the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures:

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures promotes international understanding and global academic exchange. Through the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio, courses in 13 languages and participation in many interdisciplinary programs across campus, faculty members empower students to become proficient communicators and acquire a working knowledge of cultures and literatures around the world.

The German section within the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures is a thriving program with a large International Engineering cohort and close ties to Digital Humanities.
